Should I say that summer is half over? Or should I say that we have half a summer left? I think I’ll opt for the latter even though the heat is killing me. Despite the heat, it’s hard not to enjoy summer vacations, family barbecues, trips to the beach, and lazy days with no alarm clock.
I was at the James River a few weeks ago and it was nice to see families enjoying the sunshine and the outdoors. I always get a smile on my face whenever I hear kids laughing and having fun. Times goes by quickly which is why it’s nice to slow down during the summer months and enjoy the everyday moments.
One of my favorite summer activities is visiting garage sales. I love looking for vintage items, furniture, etc., At a recent garage sale I acquired seven nautical-themed pieces of decor for $5.00. Most of the items still had the original Home Goods price sticker on them and I can tell you that I definitely got my money’s worth. One of the 7 items that I bought was an oar with the word “coastal” on it. I like the colors but the font that “coastal” is written in looks out-of-place. I decided that I’m going to paint over it and use a more sea-worthy font. I’m probably going to use the Manic Sea font listed below but I haven’t committed as of yet. We’ll see how it goes. Anyway, I hope you enjoy the rest of your summer and hopefully you’ll find a creative project to use these fonts in. I love them all!
