North Pole Brownie Bars
I love a good peppermint recipe, but some of them go a bit overboard. When I bite into a brownie, I don’t want to taste just peppermint. I want to taste the chocolate and whatever else is included. That’s why I love these North Pole brownie bars. They taste like a brownie with a bit of peppermint.
You can also personalize this recipe by leaving out the crushed peppermint candies on the frosting. You can also add more, or less depending on your taste. I definitely don’t recommend changing the amount of peppermint extract listed in the recipe. In my opinion, one tablespoon of peppermint extract makes this recipe just right.
My photography skills don’t do this recipe justice. The brownies look very festive in person and they smell delicious! This would make a nice treat for friends and family especially if you put them in a cute holiday box with a pretty bow. I’ve set these beauties out at a holiday party and watched them disappear.
I used a classic buttercream frosting for these brownies. I’ve been using this same recipe since I was a kid. It hasn’t failed me yet. 🙂
