If you follow me on Instagram, you know that I spent this past weekend exploring the beautiful Fall colors here in Richmond, Virginia. The weather wasn’t that nice (50 degrees, 100% humidity, and cloudy) but the scenery was perfect.
Let’s go on an adventure.
Fifth Annual Fall In Virginia Photos With Two Free Downloads
In this first photo, I love the way the color of the trees is mirrored in the water, don’t you? Normally there’s ducks and geese in this pond but apparently, they’ve already flown south for the winter. 😉
If you look closely, there are a few cattails popping out at the bottom of the photo. I wanted to get a close-up but the shoreline was flooded due to a recent rain.
Doesn’t this look peaceful?
Surprisingly, some of the trees still had quite a bit of green. A few minutes after I took this shot, a squirrel popped its head out from beneath the leaves. I didn’t have my glasses on so I thought it was a snake at first, LOL.
Pine trees and fall colors. So pretty.
This heron didn’t mind the cold but he did mind me.
He was trying to catch his supper so I quickly shot this pic and kept walking.
The maple trees were stunning as usual.
This picture doesn’t do the golden-yellow color justice.
Even though this is a park, there weren’t many people out which was fine by me because it gave me time to take shots like this.
It’s postcard perfect. A perfect example of Fall in Virginia.
Since I want to share a bit of this Fall gorgeousness with all of you, I made you two freebies:
- a Facebook timeline cover &
- desktop wallpaper.
I hope you’ve enjoyed this year’s photos and I hope you enjoy the freebies. If you’d like to check out previous year’s photos, I’ve linked to them below.
