Refreshing Peppermint Sea Salt Body Scrub (Plus, Free Gift Tags)
I sure do love Virginia winters but man oh man is it doing a number on my skin. Between the windy, cold air and the lack of humidity, winter has my skin looking dry and crackly. Yes, I said crackly. 😉 Even though I’m still using my favorite dry skin lotion, it still needs a dose of something extra. That something extra is exfoliation and a dose of liquid glycerin.
Glycerin is a substance commonly found in beauty care and food products. When used in beauty products, glycerin can help seal in your skin’s moisture, improve the appearance of dry skin, and facilitate skin repair. Although glycerin can come from animal sources, I try to only use glycerin sourced from plants. Today we’ll be using it to make peppermint sea salt body scrub. It will help moisturize your skin after the sea salt exfoliates it.

What You’ll Need To Make Peppermint Sea Salt Body Scrub:
This recipe will fill approximately two 8 oz mason jars.
- 1 cup Epsom salt
- 1 cup sea salt (I used this one)
- 1/4 cup baking soda
- 1 tbsp liquid glycerin (divided into two 1/2 tbsp)
- 15-20 drops of peppermint essential oil
- jars/mason jars
- large bowl
- spoon for mixing
- optional: wooden spoons
- optional: gift tags (see below)
In a large bowl, combine the Epsom salt, sea salt, and baking soda.
Add 1/2 tbsp of liquid glycerin and combine.
Add another 1/2 tbsp of liquid glycerin and combine. Note: Splitting up the liquid glycerin helps distribute it throughout the scrub better.
Add 15 drops of peppermint essential oil and mix thoroughly. Add 5 more drops if you prefer a stronger peppermint scent.
Pour mixture into glass jars.
If you’ll be giving this as a gift, feel free to download our free vintage gift tags. It includes instructions on how to use the Peppermint Sea Salt Body Scrub.
Cut each tag out and glue an instruction tag to the back. You want your gift recipient to know how to properly use the scrub and how not to use the scrub (internally). Yes, you have to spell it out for some people (in other words, don’t use this scrub to clean your butt, lol).
