Blog Conferences Aren’t Just About Blogging #blogpaws #sponsored {Bonus: Scenes from Lake Las Vegas @WestinLakeLV} winterandsparrow.com
One of the perks of attending an out of town conference is getting out of your everyday environment. As much as I love Richmond, VA, I am by nature a wanderer, a sight-seer, and an adventurer. While I enjoy the networking and learning that a conference provides, I also enjoy the experience that each conference brings.
As some of you know, I’m headed to Nashville, TN in May to attend the BlogPaws Conference as an official ambassador.** When the conference sessions are over for the day, I plan on heading out to explore the city. As I stated earlier, I’m a wanderer by nature and that means my soul craves new experiences. I need to eat foods I’ve never eaten before, visit sites I’ve never seen, and soak in the experience of the area.
While some may believe that a blogging conference should be all work and no play, I don’t agree. When I’m done absorbing blogging tips and techniques for the day, I’m heading out to experience my new environment {Nashville}. I don’t want blogging to be my life, I want my life to include blogging.
At last year’s BlogPaws conference in Lake Las Vegas, I set aside some time to wander in the desert. I focused on every sight and every sound–simply enjoying the moment. Do you know what we call that? Living life.
Blog conferences aren’t just about blogging, they’re about enjoying and experiencing the moment.

It looks just gorgeous. I’ve always liked the desert out that way (been to Vegas a few times, and also did some Army training in the desert).
Kimberly, you have some truly wonderful photos here. When I think of conferences, my very first thought is – who will be there? Can I reconnect (or connect for the first time) with people who are my online BFFs? Once I check out who’s going, I look at who’s speaking. Conferences are big opportunities to meet experts face-to-face, to ask simple questions, and to perhaps get on their radar for future conversations.
Then, I think about the location. 🙂 I am not a wanderer. I am a home-body. Most people don’t know this but I would never leave my house if I didn’t have to, except to walk the dogs. It isn’t a phobia, it’s just me. BlogPaws has given ME an enormous opportunity to meet more dedicated pet parents like you, and the other ambassadors. I get to hang out with folks who understand why I spend so much time, effort and $$$ on my adorable fur-kids.
It doesn’t get better than that. So, I hope folks will put all of your advice together with some of mine, and come see for themselves. BlogPaws is truly a unique conference of learning, networking and fun.
Thank you Yvonne. One of the great aspects of BlogPaws is that there’s something for everyone–whether it’s pets, products, people, learning, or travelling, the conference has it all.
I love that quote about “I don’t want blogging to be my life, I want my life to include blogging.” I totally agree! I’m trying to find some balance these days b/c I feel a bit overwhelmed with everything! I’m looking forward to enjoying some time in Nashville exploring in addition to the conference! I love all the pics!
Thank you Aimee! It is definitely hard to find a balance. I’m looking forward to Nashville too 🙂
