Guess what my favorite color is? =)
My second favorite?
While I love the green fern prints that currently grace my living room, after almost four years, it’s time for a change.
It’s actually odd that I haven’t switched those prints out yet because much of the surrounding furniture has been rearranged, replaced, repainted, or sold.
The brown sofa that sticks out like an eyesore is still on my list of things that need to be replaced but every time I stash a bit of money away, unexpected expenses pop up.
Expenses like new car tires, veterinary bills, or insurance deductibles. Those darn pesky bills keep getting in my way.
So until the time is right financially, the brown couch is here to stay.
That’s where the beautiful, botanical prints come in. They’re like a mini refresh on a budget! 😉
These fifteen prints are all vintage illustrations that I downloaded from various public domain sources. In other words, they’re free to use without worrying about copyright laws.
Since I didn’t like the yellow and beige backgrounds that most of the illustrations had, I extracted the flower and placed it on a more neutral, and bright background.
I left some distressing and aging in the prints and also kept the sizes similar (but not exact). Each illustration is on an 8 x 10 printable but the flower sizes vary by a half an inch to one inch.
You may not notice this difference until you print them out. Don’t worry. They’re all beautiful, blue, and botanical and they look great together.
The best part? They’re free!
I recommend printing these on quality cardstock paper and then trimming down to size. I’m currently using this paper for my printables.
As soon as I get my prints up, I’ll add a photo to this post showing you how they look!
