It’s almost Fall y’all which means it’s time to make all the pumpkin things! When I’m not drinking the deliciousness known as pumpkin spice latte or soaking up the scent of pumpkin spice bars, I’m enjoying the bliss of Pumpkin Pie body scrub.
With just a few simple ingredients, you can make a brown sugar scrub that smells like pumpkin pie! Keep it for yourself or give away as gifts.
Make Brown Sugar Scrub Smell Like Pumpkin Pie!
What You’ll Need
- 2 cups light brown sugar
- 1/2 to 1 cup grapeseed oil
- 1 tablespoon pumpkin pie spice
- 1 tablespoon pure vanilla extract
- 4 or 8 oz canning jars (I used these SKS Wide Mouth Canning Jars in the 140 ml size. They’re made in the USA and 100% recyclable)
- pumpkin pie body scrub labels (see below)
Add the brown sugar to a large bowl.
Add 1/2 cup of grapeseed oil and combine.
Add the pumpkin pie spice and vanilla extract and combine well. If the mixture is too dry, add another 1/4 cup of grapeseed oil until it reaches the desired consistency.
Note: If you don’t have any grapeseed oil, you can substitute refined coconut oil. You don’t want to use virgin coconut oil because the coconut scent will overpower the pumpkin smell.
Fill clean canning jars with the amazing scrub you just made.
Regarding the SKS Wide Mouth Canning Jars (140ml option) used in this post, each jar holds almost 5 oz. With the Pumpkin Pie Body Scrub recipe posted above, I was able to fill four jars.
One of the many things I like about these particular SKS canning jars is the wide mouth. The wide mouth makes scooping the scrub out of the jar a lot easier however if you want to use a different sized jar you have that option because the SKS Wide Mouth Canning jars come in two other sizes (60ml and 200ml).
Of course, you can use these jars for things other than body scrub. The 200ml size would be perfect for overnight oats and yogurt parfaits (or pumpkin pie pudding 😉 ).
I ordered my SKS wide mouth canning jars online and within a few days they arrived at my doorstep. SKS Bottle and Packaging was founded in 1986 and offers a wide variety of glass, plastic and metal containers. SKS offers over 6,000 containers and closures online, from blue, amber and clear glass bottles, to green, amber and natural plastic bottles and jars.
I was able to save $10 on my order by signing up for their newsletter so keep an eye out for this when you visit their website.
Did you happen to notice those cute labels I attached to the Pumpkin Pie Body Scrub jars? You can download them for free and use them for your own jars!
Click on the image above to open up the labels in a new window and then save them to your computer.
I recommend printing these labels out on quality cardstock (especially for gift giving).
After you’ve printed the labels, cut them out and attach to your jars with twine or glue them to the top of the lid. Either way, they’re festive and adorable!

How To Use Pumpkin Pie Body Scrub
Scoop a small amount out with your hand and apply to dampened skin. Use the scrub to slough off dry skin and/or add moisture. Since this scrub contains oil, be mindful of the slick surfaces this may create in the bathtub. Thoroughly rinse the scrub off and enjoy your smooth and hydrated skin! Best if used within three months.
