Running Out Of Diapers Is Fun (Said No Mom Ever)
It isn’t breaking news but apparently, I’m human. I’m imperfect, flawed and forgetful. I’ve forgotten to turn lights off, shut doors, and check the mail. All minor issues, right? But what if I told you that my granddaughter (Mikayla) almost ran out of diapers in the middle of the night because I forgot to buy them? Ugh. True story.
Back in April, I made a DIY Diaper Bin for Mikayla and stocked it with Pampers diapers and wipes. I was pretty proud of myself and thought, “I can handle this grandparenting thing.” Fast forward two months and I’ve had a major fail. With Mikayla growing so quickly and all the busyness of the summer, I forgot to order diapers. Yes, I completely forgot. When did I realize it? When we came home exhausted from a two-day trip and discovered only two diapers were left in the bin. Two. At midnight. Oops.
Now you might be wondering why my daughter (Mikayla’s mom) didn’t alert me to the impending diaper shortage. Simple: she has a serious case of “mom brain.” An eating-sleeping-crying-pooping machine + no sleep = forgetfulness a.ka. mom brain.
Can I blame my forgetfulness on grandma brain? Is there such a thing? I say there is. See the definition below:
grandma brain: a case of forgetfulness that occurs when a grandmother is heavily distracted by the cuteness of a grandchild.
Since I don’t want to run out of diapers (again) or wipes, paper towels, toilet paper, or any other household essential, I went ahead and replenished my P&G stock by ordering all that I need online at www.avoidtheoops.com. The three most important items I purchased?
- Two Huge Boxes of Pampers Cruisers Diapers in Size 4
-
Pampers Natural Clean Baby Wipes Refills, 504 sheets
Making sure she has everything she needs so I can get back to grandma brain…priceless.
Have you had an “oops” moment that you’d like to share? Tell me about it in the comments.
