Alright women (and men), I know we all have our own body insecurities and flaws and we always look for ways to cover them up or get rid of them. We go as far as “magical” creams, oils, facials, peels, and even surgery. Of course, however, this list goes on. One of the main insecurities among people, especially me, are stretch marks. Almost everyone has them; just some are more noticeable than others. Some of the causes of these are: pregnancy, weight gain/loss, muscle gain, and growing rapidly (height for example). We are constantly looking for ways to make them less noticeable but don’t know if we are using the right things. I have done some research and have decided to share with you the top and most used items that help fade these pesky marks so you can feel comfortable again in your own skin!
Of course remember that stretch mark creams and other remedies can take a long time to work depending on how severe your stretch marks are. So even if you don’t see immediate results after a couple of weeks, don’t get discouraged! Use the creams as recommended daily and make sure to keep up with it. Trust me I know how frustrating this can be because we want to get rid of them right away, but we just gotta be patient! 🙂
Palmer’s Stretch Mark Oil:
This is what I have been using for the past month or so. So far, it is amazing! It makes my skin feel so smooth and I have already seen slight improvement. Of course these things don’t happen right away so you have to be patient. So if you don’t see results after 2-3 weeks, don’t give up on that product just yet! Remember, not everything works the same for everyone.
The reviews on this state that this usually takes a bit longer to show improvements (2-6 months). The skin will be much more hydrated after using this oil.
L-Carnitine Stretch Mark Cream:
This cream has had some pretty good reviews. A couple of people said this is what they actually had the most success with. You will be able to see results after at least 1 month. Your skin will be tighter and the stretch marks are lighter and less visible as well.
Vitamin E Oil:
Pure Vitamin E oil is extremely good for stretch marks. It’s a great moisturizer for your skin and helps to smooth out uneven skin tones as well. As this does work, it could take a bit of time to see results depending on how severe your marks are.
Cocoa Butter and Shea Butter:
Of course I had to add these to the list! They both help prevent and reduce the appearance of stretch marks. The both moisturize and help improve the elasticity of the skin. They’re also cheap which helps when you’re on a budget like I am! There have been tons of positive reviews on cocoa butter and shea butter.
On top of Vitamin E Oil and Cocoa Butter, this is also a very popular and effective way of fading stretch marks. This requires regular and daily application.
This has been mentioned a few times to also help fade stretch marks. Slightly warm the oil and be sure to massage it on your skin in a circular motion 2-3 times daily. Leave it on for at least 30 minutes.
This can be bought in store or you can make your own using raw sugar and almond oil or even grounded coffee grinds and olive oil.
You can either massage plain aloe vera on your skin or you can also create a mixture using aloe vera and olive oil or Vitamin E oil. Leave it on for at least 5-10 minutes and then rinse off using warm water. It has many positive reviews and has been an effective way for reducing stretch marks and treating skin conditions over time.
Skin treatments by a Dermatologist, chemical peels, Dermabrasion, and laser surgery. Also, always keep the skin moisturized at all times as this will help stimulate collagen production and fade stretch marks. Drink plenty of water to keep the skin hydrated.
- Hope these help!! I do recommend however, using any of these daily about 2-3 times per day to see the best results. Massage them on your skin in a circular motion until it is completely absorbed.
- If you have had luck with anything else other than what is on this list, please feel free to share it by commenting below!!
- I will also be updating this list and adding more items as well! 🙂
