You may be surprised but several acne treatments can be found right in your home! Common household foods and ingredients can become perfect for treating your stubborn skin problems. Here are some great homemade face masks that will help you achieve moisturized, glowing skin while also preventing/clearing acne without the expensive price tag!

*Tip: Before applying the face mask, rinse your face with warm water to open up your pores.
1) Cucumber and Oatmeal Face Mask
Blend one small cucumber and 1 cup of old-fashioned oatmeal (not instant) into a paste. Then mix an equal amount of plain yogurt with the paste (ex. 1 tablespoon of the paste with 1 tablespoon of yogurt) and apply it to your face. Leave on for about 30 minutes, then rinse off.
2) A Simple Honey Face Mask
This mask definitely works better if you rinse your face off with warm water first to open up your pores. Apply the honey to your face (the amount is up to you) and leave it on for about 30 minutes. If you want, you can also add 1 beaten egg white or 1 tablespoon of lemon juice. Thoroughly rinse it off with warm water and then a second time with cool water.
3) Oatmeal Face Mask
This oatmeal facial is great if you’re looking to clear up acne and soothe your skin. Mix 2 tablespoons of old-fashioned oatmeal (not instant) , 1 tablespoon of baking soda, and add enough water to make it into a paste. Smooth the paste over your skin while gently rubbing it in. Leave on for about 5-10 minutes and rinse thoroughly.
4) Yeast and Yogurt Face Mask
This mask is great for oily skin! It will help to clear acne and reduce any excess oil. Mix 1 teaspoon of brewer’s yeast with a small amount of plain yogurt to create just a small mixture. Apply it generously to your face or any specific areas that are oily. Leave it on for about 15-20 minutes and then rinse off with warm water. Rinse a second time with cool water.
5) Lemon and Egg Face Mask
This is a great mask for any skin type! Squeeze half a lemon and mix the juice with one beaten egg white; mix thoroughly. Apply it to your face and leave the mask on for as long as you like (even overnight for more benefits). Then, rinse off your face with warm water. Be sure to keep the mixture out of your eyes and mouth.
6) Cucumber Face Mask
This mask will help to smooth your skin. Mash one cucumber, drain any excess liquid, and add 1 tablespoon of sugar. Mix thoroughly. Apply this mask to your face and leave it on for about 10 minutes. Rinse off with cool water.
7) Turmeric Face Mask
Mix 2 teaspoons each of turmeric powder, almond oil, and sandalwood powder. Add enough water to make it into a paste. Apply it to your face and leave it on for no more than 10 minutes. To remove the paste, rub with slight pressure with your fingers and then rinse thoroughly with lukewarm water. You can find the ingredients for this at spice markets, ethnic food stores, or even in the spice aisle at your grocery store!
