Hello there parents! If you make your kids’ school lunches, you know that it can be a struggle to a) come up with things they’ll eat b) making sure their lunches are nutritious and c) not waiting until the last minute to pack said lunches.
Back in the day, the school bought lunches weren’t as unappealing as they are now. Of course, this doesn’t apply to every school but the consensus seems to be a big thumbs down for school lunches overall.
In elementary school, I remember having four or five lunch choices and about 70% of what they served tasted good. Seriously.
It was a good day if Mexican tostadas were on the menu and a bad day if it involved turkey tetrazzini. Ugh. I can’t eat it to this day.
Since school lunches weren’t that bad, I seldom took a packed lunch to school. Of course, I never asked for them either because I knew all I would get is peanut butter and jelly. PB and J is great but why eat it at school when I already ate it at home??
Anyway, when my daughter started school, lunches were a struggle. She was a picky eater and there were days half of her lunch came back home (spoiled of course) still in the lunch box. Frustrating, right?
Let me tell you, I wish I would’ve had a list available to me like the one I’m sharing with you today. It would’ve have saved me money, time, and frustration.
Since I want you and your kids to have a fabulous school year, I’m sharing the list to make life easier on all of you hard-working parents out there.
