Two Special Guests Means Stocking Up On Household Needs
Last month my husband and I were empty-nesters with a predictable routine and a nice and neat home. This month, we’re parents and grandparents in a home filled with a giggling baby, musical toys, and the echoes of our daughter (Bree) on the phone. Bree is on summer break so she and her daughter (my granddaughter) will be staying with us until college classes resume in the Fall. My husband and I love having them here but let’s face it, we’ve had to make a few adjustments.
Adjustments include buying more groceries, cooking larger meals, stocking up on additional household supplies, watching out for blocks in the middle of the living room floor, and dealing with a baby crying in the middle of the night. Then there’s the spit-up and spills, dirty diapers, and the laundry. Oh my goodness. All.of.the.laundry. But do you know what? I wouldn’t trade them for anything. I mean, look at that adorable face!
Because I want to spend more time being a grandma and mom and less time being an errand runner, I headed to Costco to stock up on a few P&G household needs. To handle the spit-up and spills, I picked up a package of Bounty Advanced™ Paper Towels==> Bounty’s strongest and most durable sheets ever (*when wet vs. National Bounty Original).
Our family appreciates that each roll has the select-a-size feature. We use smaller sheets for messy baby faces and larger sheets for high chair spills.
Remember all of that laundry I mentioned earlier? It’s never-ending. Thank goodness for Gain® Liquid Laundry Detergent in original scent (our fave).
The Gain I purchased at Costco includes 30% more. With all of the socks, bibs, pajamas, dresses, stuffies, sheets, burp cloths, and outfits we have to wash, every bit helps.
Gain’s laundry detergent keeps this 25-year-old baby quilt looking bright and white. It’s been used for two generations of babies (my daughter and now my granddaughter). Isn’t it cute?!
When noses or tushies need to be wiped, Charmin® Ultra Soft® toilet paper does the job by being both soft and absorbent. Who likes rough toilet paper anyway? Not me.
Now that I’ve got my household needs covered (for the next month at least), I can enjoy my summer being a grandma, mom, and yes–a mess-maker. I’m a fun (and young) grandma after all. 😉
What household items do you need to stock up on? Are you expecting any special guests this summer?
