7 Ways To Help Prevent Stretch Marks During Pregnancy
Pregnancy is definitely an exciting time for a woman, but even this exciting time comes with frustrating and not so enjoyable moments. Changes to the body come rushing in almost immediately with the added hormone levels, blood increase, weight gain, and growing belly.
Early on in my own pregnancy and even now, I have been dealing with all of these changes and more. One of the most common problems that a woman has to face throughout pregnancy (unless you’re lucky) is stretch marks.
As the more time goes by, the more that these pesky marks are showing up all over my growing belly. So, I have been constantly looking for things that I can do to help prevent even more from showing up.
From reading about what has worked for other moms and talking to my own friends that are pregnant, these are the top ways that I have found to help prevent stretch marks during pregnancy and fade the ones that are already there.
1. Vitamin E oil.
2. Castor or olive oil.
3. Coconut oil.
4. Shea butter or Cocoa butter (check out our recipe for whipped body butter)
5. Baby oil.
6. Eating a healthy, balanced diet.
7. Staying hydrated by drinking plenty of water.
The list above is not in any specific order.
The best results that I have personally seen were from using an oil (Vitamin E oil), instead of a lotion or cream. Applying it right after a shower (when the pores are open) works best.
However, everyone is different and something else could work much better for you.
