“View Prescription History” Feature Helped Me Provide Accurate Info For Dad’s Hospital Admission #shop #WalgreensRX #CollectiveBias
I have been dealing with Multiple Sclerosis and a host of other fun medical issues since 2008. My dad has been dealing with medical issues even longer. Since dad came to live with me several years ago, I have been responsible for arranging his medical care and keeping up with his medication refills. This responsibility is in addition to managing my own medical care needs.
About 10 days ago, dad was admitted to the hospital where he remains in the Intensive Care Unit. To say that these past few weeks have been stressful would be an understatement. Quite frankly, I have been overwhelmed because I have worried about my father.
The day my dad was admitted, the nurses and doctors wanted a complete medical history. Since my dad was not able to speak, it was up to me to provide this information. I used to carry around a sheet of paper that contained dad’s medical info but I recently discovered an easier way. While sitting in my dad’s hospital room, I logged into the Family Prescription Management section of Walgreens.com.
With the click of a mouse, I was able to provide the nurses with a complete list of my dad’s current medications. Being able to provide this information helps maintain continuity of care which is important for dad’s recovery and well-being.
Once dad is discharged from the hospital, I will be ready to help him build his strength back up with the help of supplemental nutrition. I have already stocked up on vanilla-flavored Ensure which will give him the protein, vitamins, and minerals his body desperately needs.
Thankfully, the nutritional shakes are located one aisle over from the pharmacy counter. This means that I can easily pick up my dad’s medication refills and restock the shakes in one quick visit. This will save me time and energy which will allow me to take better care of my dad during his recovery.
