DIY: Four Vintage Botanical Prints To Spruce Up Your Home {Free Downloads}
DIY Vintage Botanical Prints {Free Downloads}
When I was a kid, I grew up in an apartment on the second floor. We had a balcony that measured approximately 6 x 3 feet. This balcony overlooked the tennis court–that you couldn’t see–because there was a forest blocking the view. This forest was the wall of plants that my mom collected, loved, and grew.
There were plants in planters, plants in pots, plants hanging from the beams, and plants hanging from the railing. The neighbors called our balcony “the one with all the plants.” As a kid, I called it embarrassing.
Just so you know, my mom wasn’t a hoarder—-she just loved plants. Fast forward to today and nothing has changed. My mom still loves plants and they flourish in her care.
If ever there was a shining example of someone with a green thumb, she is it.
I’ve seen my mom bring near dead plants back to life, rescue plants from the roadside, and nurture one aloe plant over a 20 year period {that aloe met its final fate during a hurricane}.
I love how passionate she is about plants but currently, she doesn’t need anymore and she knows it. So, since it’s her birthday, I’ve decided to give her the next best thing–vintage botanical prints for her walls.
Using photoshop, I edited several vintage plant prints {source: public domain} and then placed them over vintage dictionary images I’ve been collecting from the Old Design Shop. I’ve been following Julie’s website for a while now and I just love all of the free vintage images she edits and shares. We’ve emailed back and forth several times and I just love her.
I’m giving my mom 2 framed prints for her birthday but I created 4 prints total. All are free to download and are for personal use only.
I love these prints so much that I’ve decided to hang them in my own living room–after my mom’s birthday of course. 😉
