6 Free Burpee’s Seed Packet Labels
My goal for today was to uncover a few vintage French images but somehow I ended up in the agricultural section. Since my hands have been cold and numb most of the day, I just stayed in the ag section and browsed Burpee’s seed images.
The multitude of colors in the images seemed prettier than usual–possibly in contrast to the dark and dreary and frigid temps here in Richmond, VA.
According to the Burpee website, the company was founded in Philadelphia in 1876 by an 18-year-old with a passion for plants and animals and a mother willing to lend him $1000 dollars of “seed money” to get started in business.
Within 25 years, W. Atlee Burpee had developed the largest, most progressive seed company in America. By 1915, Burpee was mailing a million catalogs a year to America’s gardeners.
The vintage seed packet labels posted below are from those catalogs {late 1800’s/early 1900’s}. Each image has been edited {by me} to improve overall aesthetics. These images are in the public domain so you may use them for your personal projects.

I hope you enjoy these gorgeous splashes of color as much as I do.

These Burpee’s seed packet labels would look amazing on tea towels, wood, jars, and plant pots.
