Free Vintage French Labels {Perfect For Craft Projects}
It’s been cold and snowy here in Richmond so I’ve been spending quite a bit of time indoors. As much as I love the snow, it’s difficult for me to walk in because my Multiple Sclerosis weakened legs already make me feel like I’m walking through waist deep snow!
Earlier this week, I started searching the internet for public domain French labels. Why French labels? Not only do I love them but I have a few crafts that I’d like to use them in. Somehow I came across the gold mine known as the Wellcome Collection, London. They have so many gorgeous public domain images online that I felt like a kid in a candy store! Or an adult in a candy store because I still love candy! 😉
All of the images linked below are in the public domain which means you are free to use them in your projects without violating any copyright laws. I have edited each one to improve the color, clarity, and overall appearance. I have also provided variations on some of the labels {adding crackle, altering shading, etc.,}.
I would also like to say this—last week, someone left a nasty comment on both this blog and on Pinterest regarding my vintage images. The comment criticized my editing and the method I often use to host my images {box.com}. You know the old saying, “If you can’t say anything nice don’t say anything at all”? That totally applies here. I am NOT a photoshop expert and have never claimed to be. I find, edit, and post these images on my time, just for fun. And I LOVE sharing them. If the images do not meet your satisfaction, please, just pass them by. I am all for constructive criticism but this was mean-spirited criticism. I don’t need {or deserve} it. End of rant.
To save an image, please open the image in a new tab and then save to your computer.
I hope you enjoy these beauties as much as I do!
