Add A Touch Of Whimsy With Vintage Butterfly Art
You know those bloggers who post pictures of their homes and everything inside {the decor} is gray, white, or jute-colored? I’m not one of those bloggers.
Now don’t get me wrong. I’m not bashing anyone for their choice in decor. Believe me….I’m no interior designer. All I’m saying is that the all-neutral color scheme is not for me.
While I do use whites and grays (refer to this French-inspired dresser redo), I need pops of color.
This bookcase is a perfect example. It used to be brown but I painted it white and turquoise and distressed it. I shabby-chic’d it.
The colors make me happy. The two white clip frames that are sitting on top? They’ve been blank for the past few months. Bad blogger.
Inspiration struck when I came across a vintage book online full of beautiful butterfly images. I said to myself, “Nothing says spring like beautiful butterflies. Why don’t you print those out and add them to your white frames that are feeling naked?”
Of course, it couldn’t be that simple. I had to edit the images because they were a bit dull and full of scratches. But the end result?
Gorgeous blue and yellow vintage butterfly art!
These white clip frames from Michael’s fit a 4 x 6 image so I printed my images out on 8x 10 white cardstock and trimmed to size.
This bookcase is in my living room so whenever I see it, I think spring. And I don’t care what anyone says (said in a tantrum 2-year old voice), I like my bright colors!
The next step? Getting some plants and flowers for my patio to attract bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds.
Because we’re friends, I’m sharing the vintage butterfly art print{s} with you. You can download them for free and add some spring|color to your home.
